How it works

Terminal
Desktop → local engine → OpenSS backend → managed AI provider

The local engine forwards the desktop account token as a Bearer authorisation header. The backend authenticates the account, enforces allowance and records hosted usage before calling the managed provider.

What counts

A submitted hosted prompt that is accepted into the hosted request flow consumes hosted usage from your allowance. A voice transcript uses the same path; voice does not create a second charge. Cancelled recording, permission failure, empty transcript and failed local transcription consume no hosted usage.
