Is the browser GUI hosted on openss.xyz?
No. Run openss gui to serve it locally from your Mac. openss.xyz hosts public information, sign-in, account, billing and documentation.
Does the desktop app support Intel Macs?
The current published desktop DMG is Apple Silicon-only. The CLI installer checks native Python architecture, but that does not make the desktop DMG universal.
Do I need an OpenAI API key?
No. Every account includes hosted AI. Optional CLI BYOK remains available on Free and Pro for advanced users.
Is voice audio uploaded?
Desktop voice capture and transcription remain on the Mac. The resulting transcript can leave the device when you submit it through hosted AI or CLI BYOK.
Do credits unlock Pro?
No. Purchased AI credits extend hosted usage only.
